Médecins Sans Frontières France is looking for Yemeni nationals to recruit for the following position:

MEDICAL DOCTOR SUPERVISOR

  • Location: Haydan Hospital – Saada governorate.
  • Contract duration: One Year renewable
  • Contract type: Full time contract.
  • Reporting to: Medical Activities Manager (MAM) 
  • Opening date: 23rd July 2026

Haydan Hospital is a public hospital in Saada Governorate. MSF supports the emergency room, the paediatric ward, maternity, and the OPD since several years. OT started recently in 2020 currently; OBGYN activities launched in April 2026; as well, Outreach support to health facilities in Ghafrah and Dweib started in June 2026.

Key point about the position: 

1.    No accommodation will be provided; the selected candidate will manage accommodation himself/herself.
2.    Team of 17 doctors to be under your supervision (11 males’ doctors and 6 female’s doctors).
3.    Medical support to be provided in OPD/ ER/ IPD/ ITFC/ Neonate/ Maternity, OT and Outreach activities 
4.    Medical support provided by expat Medical activities Manager (MAM), Paediatric, isolation ward, neonate and ITFC support provided by an expat paediatrician and the Expat Head Nurse.
5.    Medical meeting with all doctors every week to share the practising in order to improve the care of the population.
6.    Medical support to the NCD clinic will be directly provided by the MDS.
7.    With the support of the Med referent, will provide the medical support to the outreach team in the absence of the outreach supervisor.

The Main tasks as follows:

  • Participate in defining the annual objectives of the medical activities and their revisions.
  • Coordinate and monitor the duty plan of the doctors under his/her responsibility (rosters, tracking leaves …), and report to the MAM in case of absence from the duty and/or non-adherence to the system and rules.  
  • Supervise the doctors and provide technical support to the medical team.
  • Participate in daily hospital activities including support in the ER, OPD, patient’s rounds, monitoring of patient files, on job supervision and bedside training and replaces a doctor if necessary and participates in shifts. 
  • Follow the MDs practise in the cases management: ensure taking the proper medical history and clinical examination, and relevant Lab test requested for the accuracy of the diagnosis as well as the rationale of the prescription and adherence to MSF protocol.
  • With the support of the pharmacy staff, regularly update the medical team on the status of the medical supplies and advise for rationalization prescription and usage of alternatives if required as per MSF guidelines; he should participate also in the regular audit to improve the quality of care and control the consumption of medical supplies. 
  • Ensure quality of care and compliance with MSF protocols/standards and medical coordination recommendations including performing quality reviews and mortality report reviews in collaboration with MAM, head nurse and MedRef
  • ccollaborating with the Head Nurse and Nurse Supervisor to ensure that all hygiene measures are in place and applied in all departments, including insolation measures for specific patients 
  • In collaboration with the MAM, and head nurse/nurse supervisor ensure patients’ referrals: assure that the referral corresponds to the referral criteria, that the documentation is correctly done, that the condition of the patient is properly addressed.
  • In collaboration with the MAM and head nurse, participate in the MCP training for the team under his supervision, and be present in case of MCI.
  • Follow the outreach activities closely, by providing the necessary training and technical support to the medica team, regular visit for field support, reception of weekly and monthly data and ensure its accuracy, as well as ensuring adherence of the team to MSF protocol in the supported health facilities.
  • Support in the smooth running of the NCD clinic; technical supervision of the MA and MD, ensure adherence to MSF protocol, accurate data collection in the clinic, support the PSEC nurse and MA/MD in patients compliance to the treatment and attendance to the appointments, and follow the regular update of the patients in the cohort and waiting list.  
  • Data collection and reporting
  • Participate in collaboration with the MedRef of the analysis of medical data and indicators on a monthly basis,  and participate in writing the monthly Sitrep. 
  • Guarantees that MSF charter, policies and image are respected within the hospital
  • Ensure patient’s confidentiality is respected throughout the hospital 
  • Ensure and follow up the national staff health care according to the MSF policy. 
  • Ensure good collaboration and relation with the MoH and the authorities

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Compulsory: Medical Degree (valid to practice in Yemen as G.P Doctor).
  • At least 2 years of working experience as a medical doctor in medical activities related jobs. 
  • Previous MSF related working experience is desirable. 
  • English (speaking, writing, and reading) is essential.
  • Essential computer literacy (word, excel, internet).
  • Working experience as supervision is desirable.
