Médecins Sans Frontières Belgium in Yemen mission is looking
for Yemeni nationals to recruit for the STOREKEEPER position:
Location: Mocha Project
Contract Duration – 1 year, renewable.
Contract type: Fixed – Term
Reporting to: Warehouse Supervisor
MAIN PURPOSE
Executing the medical warehouse stock management activities
(receipt, storage, and issuance to customers or other departments of medical
supplies), according to the line manager’s instructions and MSF standards and
protocols, in order to ensure the overall functioning of MSF activities.
Accountabilities
- Supervising
materials and goods orders and dispatch in order to ensure its rational
use.
- Receiving
orders and deliveries, identifying and reporting potential discrepancies
against cargo manifest or others. Stores materials in accordance with the
system in force in order to ensure continuous availability.
- Updating
and/or creating stock cards for all stock items immediately after
reception of goods. Checking the received cold boxes and controlling the
cold chain-monitoring card.
- Storing
materials in accordance with the system in force in order to ensure
continuous availability ensuring that all items are well organised and
correctly stored, well protected, fully identified and easily accessible
(cleanliness, security, access, etc.).
- Monitoring
the store temperature and ensuring Cold Chain items are stored in an
adequate temperature. Keeping a special control of “sensitive” goods:
numbers of lots, expiry dates, packaging and special storage conditions.
- Preparing
orders on time before sending goods, and packs (according to transport
means) weighs and labels freight with corresponding shipping number,
destination, number of shipping units, waybill number, weight and mode of
transport in accordance with the line manager’s instructions.
- In
conjunction with the line manager, performing physical stock counts in
accordance with the frequency previously defined. Following up stock
levels with regards to alarms thresholds, stock out and expiry
dates.
- Controlling
warehouse limited access to authorized personnel and ensuring doors and
other exits are secured. Immediately informing the line manager of any
problems arising in the course of the work, particularly with regard to
damage, loss, attempted break-ins or theft in the warehouse

reports
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
Warehousing:
- Ensure
day-to-day medical stock management in compliance with MSF procedures,
including proper storage, organization, cleanliness, and security of the
medical warehouse.
- Apply
stock rotation principles (FEFO/FIFO) to minimize expiry.
- Apply
strict cold chain management and report immediately any temperature
deviations, damages, losses, or quality issues.
- Participate
in regular physical inventories and cycle counts, reporting discrepancies
as required.
- Ensure
medical items are clearly identified (labelled), protected, and easily
accessible.
- Support
emergency responses and increased workload during peak or emergency
periods, in line with Mocha project.
- Monitor
stock levels and inform the Warehouse Supervisor of risks of stock
rupture, pre rupture, expiries, losses, or damages.
- Provide
temporary back-up support to the Logistics Warehouse Storekeeper during
periods of leave or absence, ensuring continuity of warehouse activities.
- Apply
warehouse security, access, and safety rules in accordance with MSF
standards.
- Work
under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor and uphold MSF values,
code of conduct, and confidentiality standards at all times.
Incoming freight management:
- Reception
of the medical order from coordination, verifying quantities, quality,
batch numbers, and expiry dates, and ensure discrepancies or quality
issues are promptly reported.
- Ensure
data encoded in Unifield is correctly and regularly updated as per the
activity, especially related to receptions.
- Support
unloading during the incoming freight.
Orders / deliveries / dispatches:
- Prepare
and process medical orders and dispatches according to the order
chronogram for Mocha hospital and the health centers, ensuring accuracy
and traceability according to MSF procedures.
- Ensure
data encoded in Unifield is correctly and regularly updated as per the
activity, especially related to deliveries.
- Support
loading activities and ensure medical items are packed appropriately to
prevent damage.
Archiving:
- Ensure
proper filing and archiving of warehouse documentation (waybill, freight
manifest, stock cards, delivery order out, incoming shipment, donation/loan
certificate… ) in line with MSF procedures.
Performing any other tasks within the scope of his role, as
directed by supervision and according to the needs of the mission.
