ABOUT FMF:
The Field Medical Foundation (FMF) has been operating in
Yemen for since 2012 during even the most dangerous peak of the conflict in the
region. Our staff of dedicated professionals and passionate volunteers are the
helping hand that delivers aid from local and/or international partners to
those who require it the most, in a country that was already suffering before
the war. Today we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9
million vulnerable people in Yemen to help them not only to survive but also to
rebuild their lives. We aim to provide a comprehensive approach to providing
aid through interventions, which is why we work in almost all sectors of
international emergency relief.
POSITION DESCRIPTION/ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Documenting
all project activities through photography, videography, and success
stories.
- Assisted
with project news through FMF platforms and various media outlets.
- Coordinating
with TV channels and different media outlets to cover project activities.
- Conducting
interviews with beneficiaries and writing human-interest stories from the
targeted areas.
- Collecting
photos and videos that demonstrate the impact of the conflict on the
humanitarian situation in the project areas.
- Maintaining
and archiving all data and media materials (stories, photos, videos, etc.)
received from project staff and beneficiaries, and supporting media
content development.
- Performing
any other tasks or duties assigned within the framework of the FMF
projects.
- Ensuring
that all required tasks are implemented in accordance with the donor's
ethical guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's
Degree in Multimedia, Journalism, public relations, or related field.
- A
minimum of one year of experience working with INGOs/NGOs in Humanitarian
Aid in a similar position.
- Excellent
Photography and filming skills.
- The
ability to deal with design and montage programs (Adobe Creative Cloud).
- The
ability to formulate and edit news content for all project activities to
be compatible with publishing on the foundation’s website as well as
social networking pages.
- The
ability to interview beneficiaries and write success stories of the
project.
- The
ability to form relationships with the available media and make broad
media coverage of news of project activities.
- Enthusiasm
and a genuine interest in INGO work.
- Proven
experience of using MS Office applications (MS office).
- The
ability to work in a team spirit.
