Program Assistant
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Location: Aden-Yemen, with frequent visit to the field in another
Governorate.
Reports to: Project Officer/Manager.

About Read Foundation
Read Foundation is an International Non-profit organisation,
registered in the UK in 1994, with the aim of contributing to educational
development for affected populations. READ Foundation- Yemen (RFY) established
its operations in Yemen in July 2020. Since its establishment, RFY has assisted
the affected population with lifesaving interventions in different
governorates.
Job Purpose
The Program assistant is responsible for implement the
projects activities in humanitarian settings, ensuring alignment with program
workplans and achievement of intended outcomes.
The role focuses on education, FSL, WASH assistance across
all activities and safeguarding vulnerable populations from harm, abuse,
neglect, and exploitation. Program Assistant will identify, refer and follow up
on cases, thus with specific needs in a timely manner who are in needs
The Program Assistant works under the supervision of the
Program officer/Manager, and will work closely with HQ sponsorship program
staff, field offices or through field visits with the field teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist
in the definition of projects scope and objectives, involving all relevant
stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Responsible
for the all-projects activities such as implementation, project
supervision, quality of services improvement, risk management, and
campaigns regarding the project presenting an impression to the targeted
beneficiaries.
- Implement
the initiation, regular supervision, monitoring, and evaluation of the
project activity plan to ensure effective and timely implementation of all
project components within the allocated budget.
- Assist
in changes of the projects scope, projects schedule, and projects costs
using appropriate verification techniques.
- Coordinate
with all related stakeholders.
- Supervise
and support projects staff, Consultant, Volunteers, Case Workers, and
Community Mobilizers.
- Supervise
all logistical procedures for the projects in coordination with the
Logistic team, including projects procurement, movement …etc
- Lead
all verification and registration activities of selected beneficiaries at
targeted communities
- Lead
and implement assistance process including maintain comprehensive
documentation and submit to related departments.
- Undertrack
beneficiaries record tracking on monthly basis
- Production
of monthly internal specific reports and elaboration of the monthly
report, Quarter report, the mid-term and final reports according to Donor
rules and regulations.
- Represent
RFY in cluster meetings.
- Ensure
data is collected regularly to respond to agreed indicators.
- Track
project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of
short and long-term goals
- Measure
project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Conduct
regular team meetings, performance appraisals, and coaching sessions.
- Ensure
mainstreaming of protection across other sectoral interventions.
- Conduct
supervisory field visits and ensure community engagement, feedback
mechanisms, and accountability to affected populations.
- Perform
other related duties as assigned in order to facilitate the sponsorship
activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor
degree preferred to be in administration or any other field with the
required number of years’ experience.
- At
least 3-5 years of experience in the humanitarian field, preferably with
experience in a humanitarian programming.
- Technical
background in programming and resilience-related humanitarian projects.
- Strong
experience with social work.
- Full
professional proficiency in written and spoken English
- Perform
a variety of tasks.
- Lead
and direct the work of others.
- Ability
to work under pressure.
- Excellent
computer skills (proven computer literacy, in particular proficiency with
MS Office tools is a must).
- Ability
to plan and writing report.
- Commitment
to and understanding of RFY’s aims, values and principles.
